What the evidence supports
The United States and Japan jointly intervened in foreign-exchange markets to support the yen.
AP reported that Trump and Japan's finance minister both confirmed the intervention. The yen had weakened to a 40-year low against the dollar before the coordinated action.
The United States made $25 billion on its currency-swap deal with Argentina.
AP reported that Argentina drew $2.5 billion from the $20 billion facility and that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described the U.S. profit as tens of millions of dollars, not $25 billion.
The United States made about $75 billion to $80 billion from its Intel stake.
Intel's agreement records 433.3 million government shares bought at $20.47 each. At Intel's $90.20 Nasdaq close on July 31, the entire stake was worth about $39.1 billion and its unrealized gain was about $30.2 billion, both far below the claim.
